Sharpness, angle of cutting edge and chamfer width of a circular knife have a great influence of the products cut.

A sharpening machine must therefore meet the following requirements.

• exact, precisely-angled grinding
• preservation of the prescribed cutting edge profile
• preservation of the original circular shape

And this must be reproducible for the whole life of the circular knives. 

The Circular Knife Grinder AKS 0917 is suitable for sharpening flat and disc-shaped circular knives with diameters between 60 mm and 480 mm with one-sided and double-sided sharpening. 

The circular knives are driven electrically. Thus they remain absolutely round. 

The maximum width of the chamfered edge is 6 mm. Material erosion of the knife is extremely low, which reduces tool costs. 

A halogen machine lamp ensures optimum illumination of the work area.

The speed of one of the two pairs of honing wheels can be adjusted variable via a potentiometer. Therefore one-sided sharpening is possible. 

• Water cooled honing wheels
   prevent the cutting edge from overheating. This results in long life of the
   circular knives. 

• Stop System
   A finely adjustable stop system ensures that only as much material is removed
   as absolutely necessary. 

• Safety
   To change the blade, the retaining arm is swivelled horizontally. All drives are locked
   during a knife change. 

• Dressing
   Honing wheels which have become untrue are quickly and easily dressed with a
   diamond truing device. 

• Cutting edge angle
  The cutting edge angle can be adjusted steplessly. The set value is displayed on a
  clear scale. 

The machine meets the EC safety- and health requirements and is provided with the CE symbol.
